Job Details:

Job Title: RN – Operating Room Facility: Samaritan Medical Center Location: Watertown, NY 13601 Duration: 13-Week Contract Shift: Night Shift – 3 x 12 hours (36 hours/week; exact timings discussed during interview)

Job Requirements & Qualifications:

Minimum 2+ years of RN – Operating Room experience

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

Active New York State RN license

Candidates without recent OR experience must successfully complete the AORN Perioperative 101 Education Program (6 months)

Passing the final exam is mandatory and a condition of employment

BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications required

Minimum 1 year Medical/Surgical experience preferred

Preceptorship, charge, and leadership experience preferred

Strong clinical knowledge with the ability to assess and meet patient needs (clinical, teaching, mental, and spiritual)

Ability to recognize and respond to safety concerns and safely utilize patient lift equipment

Proven ability to function effectively in high-stress environments with strong problem-solving skills

Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to prioritize, delegate, and potentially serve as Charge Nurse

Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills

Proficiency with clinical equipment and instrumentation used in OR/ASU settings

Lethal dysrhythmia interpretation skills

On-call requirement with a 30-minute response time
