    Minimum of 2 years' experience. Cerner experience a plus.

    Pay: $55 to $60 per hour depending on experience.

    Job Summary

    The Registered Nurse (RN) – SICU provides high-quality, patient-centered care to critically ill post-surgical patients. The RN is responsible for continuous monitoring, assessment, and management of patients requiring intensive care following complex surgical procedures. This role requires strong critical-thinking skills, advanced clinical expertise, and the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Provide direct nursing care to critically ill surgical patients in the SICU

    Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans

    Monitor vital signs, hemodynamic status, ventilators, and invasive lines

    Administer medications, IV drips, blood products, and titrate medications as ordered

    Collaborate with surgeons, intensivists, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary teams

    Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and emergencies

    Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)

    Provide patient and family education and emotional support

    Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards

    Participate in quality improvement initiatives and unit-based education

    Required Qualifications

    Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (State-specific or Compact)

    Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU or SICU experience

    Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association)

    Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification Minimum of 2 years' experience. Cerner experience a plus.
