    Salary Range: $42,282 – $94,676 based on experience and degree level

    Position Overview

    The School Nurse supports student health and wellness by providing preventive care, addressing health concerns, administering medications, and coordinating care with families, educators, and healthcare providers to help ensure students remain healthy and ready to learn.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide daily nursing care for student and staff health needs
    • Administer medications and document health office visits
    • Assess student health concerns and provide care or referrals
    • Communicate with parents, physicians, and school staff regarding student health needs
    • Participate in IEP and 504 meetings when required
    • Maintain accurate and confidential health records
    • Ensure compliance with state and federal health regulations
    • Provide nursing support during field trips or school activities when needed

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
    • Licensed Registered Nurse meeting State of Delaware qualifications for a School Nurse
    • Minimum of two (2) years of clinical nursing experience required; three (3) or more years preferred
    • Pediatric or school nursing experience preferred but not required
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate with students, families, and school staff
    • Basic proficiency with electronic documentation and office software applications

    School nursing experience is helpful but not required. Nurses transitioning from hospital or clinical settings are encouraged to apply.
