The staff RN is a professional caregiver who provides nursing care to patients, assessing, monitoring, and evaluating the patient's response to nursing interventions. The staff RN provides care for patients from the age of newborn to geriatric. The RN demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, values, and guiding principles of the unit and Wayne General Hospital; remains flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits; treats staff, physician, patients and families with consideration and respect. Meets specific departmental competency criteria. Unit Specific- Maintains a current, valid state license or compact state license. A graduate of an accredited school/college of nursing. ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire and maintained. CPR required within 3 months of employment and maintained every 2 years. Two years of MED-SURG experience preferred. Basic dysrhythmia interpretation and competency within 6 months of employment.
