Are you a rock star sales engineer? Someone who knows robotic, assembly & packaging machinery like the back of your hand? Can you look at a process and concept a solution based on limited information?
While RND is located in Florida, this is a remote sales position. YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE LOCATED IN CHARLOTTE BUT SOMEWHERE IN THE SOUTH TO MID ATLANTIC TO NEW ENGLAND AREA WITH EASY ACCESS TO AN AIRPORT.
You'll need to be fearless. You need to be able to cold call without a second thought. See a company that might need our services? Stop in and knock on the door. You'll need to start bringing in RFQs within a few months. We'll expect a PO within a few more. Salary plus commission means you are in charge of how much you can make. You must be a hunter. You must be hungry. You must be able to sell in the COVID environment whihc means having a firm handle on remote selling, social media and technology tools for communication.
The perfect candidate will already have a proven track record of high-capital industrial machinery (robotics / assembly / packaging) and a book of work they can continue to pull from.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with RND's sales manager in Florida, to develop and execute a comprehensive strategic business development and market penetration plan for the northeast and midwest for RND Automation. Define major goals, objectives and timelines, identify target key accounts and relevant customer segments and develop and implement corresponding action plans.
- Quickly learn about RND’s packaging divison a manufacturer of HFFS and VFFS thermoforming machinery for both rigid and flexible film, and become familiar with their products to the point where you can identify potential new customers. We can then bring in the experts to help you close the sale until you become 100% familiar with their offerings.
- Create and execute sales plans and sales forecasts. Maintain proposal and opportunity logs and follow up with current and perspective customers both by phone, email and in person.
- Drive sales revenues by directly managing the entire sales process at target customers, from lead generation to support of final contract negotiations. Strive to obtain required supplier clearances at major accounts by developing relationships with appropriate decision-makers on multiple levels.
- Handle informational requests from interested potential customers, collect required support documentation (drawings, samples, specs etc..) and develop quotes and proposals in response to RFPs/RFQs.
- Manage and communicate with an established network of external sales channels to complement internal sales activities.
- Represent the company at relevant industry trade shows, seminars and networking events.
MINIMUM SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Strong strategic acumen with proven success in developing and executing business development/market penetration plans
- Strong MS Office skills and experience with CRM systems
- Candidates must be open and willing to travel frequently (up to 50%)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Able to communicate with all levels from factory operators to C-level managers.
- Must be reliable and exhibit a high level of determination and tenacity.
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant business or engineering-related field or alternately have completed a formalized technical vocational training complemented by additional business courses.
- No minimum experience is necessary in selling robotics / automation but a background in technical sales for major brands (e.g. Keyence, Misumi, FANUC, Epson, Allen Bradley, SMC, Festo, etc... would be a gigantic plus!)
