    ROARK has partnered with a manufacturing company located in Apple Valley, CA. We are looking for a Sr. Cost Accountant.

    As a  Sr. Cost Accountant, you will report to the CFO and actively support the development, maintenance, and fiscal reporting of manufacturing cost for the plant, in accordance with financial guidelines. You will facilitate business plans and operational decisions by creating and managing operational reporting. The Cost Accountant will work with estimators to create new standards (and edit existing standards where required); assist in maintaining the standard cost system; generate ERP system reports on cost measures (including, but not limited to, productivity, efficiency, and utilization); verify accuracy of inventory values including item costs and bill of materials; and assist with audits and special projects as needed.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Working with other team members (particularly estimating and engineering) to provide assistance in creating and editing standard costs for manufactured parts (Bills of Materials, Routings, and inputs into ERP system).
    • Develop direct and indirect standard costs by product for materials, labor and manufacturing overhead.
    • Updating standard costs on a periodic basis.
    • Prepare timely and pertinent cost variance reports and make recommendations or take action on items as needed.
    • Run productivity, efficiency, and utilization reports from ERP system, reporting to management and investigating variances as needed.
    • Partner with operational management to improve controls, accuracy and quality of manufacturing costs and resolve extraordinary variances.
    • Direct periodic inventory cycle counts and perform data entry of counts.
    • Participate in the monthly fiscal accounting closing process –assist CFO with preparation of journal entries pertaining to standard costs and variances.
    • Contribute pertinent cost analysis associated with the annual budgeting process.
    • Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and the annual audit package as required.

    PERIPHERAL DUTIES

    • Interact with organizational team members and other departments in a professional manner.
    • Assists in formulating strategic plans.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualification and Experience Requirement:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
    • A minimum of 3 years cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
    • Experience with the “E2” Manufacturing ERP system is preferred, however experience in a similar SQL-based ERP system may suffice.
    • Knowledge of GAAP and ethical standards associated with confidential and fiduciary responsibilities.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills. (verbal and written)
    • Strong PC skills, proficiency with Windows, MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to learn new skills and software applications.
    • Ability to work with limited supervision.
