ROARK has partnered with a fast-growing company located in Marina Del Rey, CA. They are looking for a Controller to help build and develop their accounting team. Our client is looking for someone who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves and be hands on.

The Role:

We are looking for an experienced and hardworking accounting professional to lead our accounting practice and enhance our monitoring and reporting procedures to facilitate timely and accurate financial analysis and month-end close. A very strong accounting background is critical, along with an eagerness to shape best-practices in a fast-growing startup environment. This role will report to the Director of Finance. Responsibilities:

• Responsible for company’s financial record-keeping and regulatory compliance
• Prepare and publish accurate, timely and reliable financials for month-end close
• Ensure quality control over financial reporting
• Manage all accounting operations including: Billing, A/P, A/R, GL, Revenue Recognition, Cost / Inventory Accounting
• Continue to develop and document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls
• Oversees federal, state, local and international reporting requirements and tax compliance
• Build out accounting practice in QuickBooks, with particular focus on in-house manufacturing and DTC businesses
• Provide support for ongoing work with external auditors and project leader for year-end audit
• Rigorously measure and report on KPIs on daily, weekly, and monthly basis
• Collaborate with Director of Finance to support financial planning, analysis, budgeting and forecasting

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of finance/accounting experience
• Recent company-level accounting / controller experience
• Accounting / audit background at public accounting / audit firm
• Proficiency with in-house manufacturing and/or DTC eCommerce
• Experience creating, monitoring, and overseeing new accounting procedures
• Startup experience is preferred
• CPA
• Mastery of QuickBooks
• Mastery of financial accounting
• Bachelor's degree
• Highly quantitative and analytical with excellent problem-solving skills
