Staff Accountant - Tewskbury, MA
Newly created position with an established global company reporting to the Controller.
Responsibilities:
• Payroll: update employee information, prepare and process weekly payroll with Paychex, reconcile payroll taxes and prepare payroll journal entries.
• Benefits: review benefits billings and revise as needed. Prepare payment request.
• Sales/Use tax returns: prepare and file sales tax returns (Monthly/Quarterly/Annually) for multiple states, update sales tax rates and reconcile sales taxes periodically.
• Inter-company reconciliations: process and reconcile inter-company transactions, prepare monthly inter-company confirmations.
• Sales commissions: assist with preparing quarterly sales reports for sales and service team and preparing calculations of sales commission and payouts.
• Revenue Recognition: assist with updating deferred revenue schedules, preparing recurring entries and adjusting journal entries for deferred income.
• Fixed Asset and Depreciation: assist with booking Fixed Assets, depreciation and preparing fixed asset schedules.
• Monthly and YE closings: prepare monthly closing entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and assist with YE closing and reporting. Prepare audit schedules as required.
• Financial reporting and analysis: assist with preparing weekly booking and sales reports, monthly financial statements and budget variance analysis and ad hoc reports as needed.
• Banking: support daily bank transactions, bank reconciliations and cash flow projections.
• Other duties: support various accounting (included but not limit to AP, AR, Expense report and payment processing) and cross-functional projects on as needed basis
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 2 Years’ experience in payroll processing, sales taxes reporting, monthly closing and financial reporting.
• Intermediate skill in MS Excel is required and advanced skill is preferred.
• Experience with INFOR system or other large ERP system is preferred.
• Paychex software experience is preferred
• Detail-oriented, strong analytical, organizational and time management skills, and strong communication and problem-solving skills.
