    We are looking for a Remote Drug Delivery Systems (DDS) Business Development Executive to join our client, a leading global provider of drug containment, drug delivery, and diagnostic solutions to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and life sciences industries. The organization is a global operator with sixteen production and commercial sites located on different continents, and this position will be responsible for covering a territory consisting of the Americas.

    This position is 100% remote with up to 25% travel as this is a client facing role. The Remote Drug Delivery Systems (DDS) Business Development Executive will schedule all travel as deemed necessary.

    The Remote Drug Delivery Systems (DDS) Business Development Executive will support customers through all stages of drug development, from pre-clinical to clinical and commercialization. The ideal candidate will collaborate with clients offering fully integrated solutions which enable the client organization to focus on their core activities of drug development. The Remote Drug Delivery Systems (DDS) Business Development Executive will take charge of customer-oriented meetings, which involve identifying new opportunities and expanding upon existing opportunities to work with clients to secure Device Contract Manufacturing business as well as Proprietary Device Development Agreements (DA).

    Responsibilities:

    • Identify and evaluate new customer opportunities for Proprietary and Contract Manufacturing device business with the thousands of emerging biotech organizations developing new products.
    • Maintain and expand relationships with existing customers and educate current clients on new and expanded products, services, and technologies being brought to market.
    • Work in collaboration with current customers to explore new business opportunities and future product offerings for pharmaceuticals currently in development.
    • Coordinate initial meetings with customers, which may include travel.
    • Lead meeting strategy with delivery of company presentation and capabilities.
    • Identify and evaluate potential opportunities with prospective customers, determining if project and prospect is a strategic fit with DDS business objectives.
    • Perform initial project due diligence analysis with a key understanding of market and customer unmet needs and DDS value proposition.
    • Provide project forecast and financials to management.
    • Generate scope of work, budget, and key contractual terms according to DDS business model.
    • Conduct final negotiations, in conjunction with the Director, to secure desired business opportunities.
    • Apply and share a comprehensive understanding of and expertise in drug delivery systems and drug product development and manufacturing services, as well as customer needs in pharmaceutical development.
    • Sell consultatively and make recommendations to prospects and customers of the various solutions to solve their business issues.
    • Manage client relationships for an extended period through drug development, CDA/NDA execution, feasibility studies, and development agreements.
    • Contribute to the creation of the DDS Strategy Plan and translate it into actionable steps for achievement.
    • Work across boundaries with Product Management, R&D, and Marketing to leverage trends for business purposes.
    • Ensure business profitability aligns with Corporate Goals.
    • Monitor overall DDS business performance during project execution, ensuring alignment with DDS and Corporate goals.
    • Report project updates to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Oversee development targets/KPIs and implement corrective actions when necessary.
    • Maintain accurate records of customer activity and data, documenting information for DDS and Corporate visibility using financial reporting tools and/or the CRM System.
    • Interact and communicate with key internal leaders, teams, and relevant stakeholders to increase awareness of DDS vision and strategy.
    • Follow all cGMP requirements and procedures specified for the position.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree required.
    • MBA or master’s degree is preferred.
    • Five (5) years’ experience in B2B, Combination Products, Business Development, Product/Program Management.
    • Experience in Combination Products or Primary Packaging required.
    • Experience in proprietary devices and contract management is required.
    • Efficient and Effective as a remote employee, collaborator and able to work across multiple functional areas.
    • Technical understanding of combination products, primary packaging, Regulatory requirements, Program Management, Contract Manufacturing (Injection Molding/Assembly) is required.
    • Knowledge of cGMP requirements and procedures highly preferred.
    • Strong Communication/Negotiation skills and exceptional customer focus are required.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proven experience with relationship building both internal and external.
    • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Experience and understanding of CRM systems and Power BI.
