  • Responsibilities

    RPP Products Lab Technician Job Summary: -

    · Lab Technician is responsible for testing of inbound raw materials like base oil, additives, and finish product blends

    · Can adjust product formulas to meet various customer requirements and is familiar with variety of practices, procedures and relies on experience and judgement to plan, accomplish daily tasks

    · Ability to generate documents such as blend sheets, CoA’s, and short reports

    · Ability to participate in ASTM cross check programs and familiarity with all ASTM, test methods for testing oil.

    · Test finish commercial lubricants.

    · Ability to test, formulate hand sanitizer is, and generate CoA’s.

    · Knowledge of Base Oil and Additives used in Passenger Car Motor Oil.

    · Can operate following lab equipment, kinematic viscosity bath, XRF for elements, Brookfield viscometer, color, TBN, PH, Pour Point, Flash Point, MRV, CCS etc.

    · Experience in lubricant, petroleum and distribution industry strongly preferred.

    · Demonstrated customer service experience, both on phone and field based.

    · Available to work in weekends and holidays as needed.

    · Maintain and promote a safe working environment all the time.

    · Reduce overtime, rework, and maintaining quality of blends.

    · Maintain an environment to continually improve lab testing procedures for testing of blends and hand sanitizer.

    · Ability to solve problem and activities related to quality and lab testing with minimum supervision.

    · Administer policies to meet day to day operating requirements and ensure all company policies, standards are followed.

    · Must be able to sit or stand for extended period, frequently lift or move 25lbs and occasionally might have to move 50 lbs.

    · Able to perform job duties while being exposed to fumes, airborne particles, or chemicals with moderate noise levels in the work environment.

    · Other duties as assigned by Manager.

    Qualification:

    · Minimum high school diploma or undergraduate degree in chemistry.

    · Minimum 3 years’ experience required in a Passenger Car motor oil blending manufacturing unit.

    · Ability to climb ladders.

    · Ability to work flexible hours.

    · Can plan, organize, and prioritize within high volume, fast-pace environment.

    · Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, and ability to learn new computer programs including in house system.
