Finishing Clerk
_SBP is a preeminent, independent biomedical research institute dedicated to understanding human biology and disease, and advancing scientific discoveries to profoundly impact human health. _
A POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE position is available in the Haricharan lab.
The Haricharan Lab studies what DNA repair proteins do when they are not repairing DNA. Our primary focus is on the many and varied roles of DNA repair proteins, although our primary disease model is cancer. Model systems used in the lab range from transgenic mice to patient-derived xenografts. Read more about our work in this recent publication from our lab: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34011995/
The postdoctoral trainee will work on two independent research projects within the Haricharan lab (1) dealing with a role for DNA damage repair proteins in regulating lineage plasticity and metastasis (2) investigating a role for DNA damage repair pathways in altering the tumor secretome. The work will involve standard molecular biology techniques as well as genotyping and maintaining transgenic mice and conducting a range of in vivo xenograft experiments, as well as routine cell culture experiments.
