_STGi is actively seeking a qualified Mental Health-Advanced Provider to provide services at our Hopkinsville, KY CBOC. _
The APRN working in an integrated care setting functions differently than providers working in general or subspecialty mental health. In PCMHI, the APRN is part of a primary care team and functions in a consultative as well as direct treatment role. While PCMHI is primarily a population-based approach focusing on uncomplicated mental health conditions commonly encountered in primary care, the addition of a psychiatric APRN allows for co-management of more complex conditions when indicated. It is critical that the psychiatric APRN in PCMHI has a broad base of knowledge, skills, and abilities to address the wide variety of mental illnesses that may be encountered in the population. The psychiatric APRN is a key member of the overall mental health team and serves a critical role in the continuum of care. The role and responsibilities of the psychiatric/mental health advanced practice registered nurse includes mental health screening and evaluation, comprehensive mental health assessment, differential mental health diagnosis, formulation of a treatment plan, psychotherapy interventions, psychobiological interventions, case management activities, clinical supervisory activities, mental health promotion activities, and preventive interventions. Duties include, but not limited to the following:
Required Skills
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: A PCMHI APRN can be either a Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist who has current board certification as a psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner or psychiatric/mental health clinical nurse specialist from the American Nurses Credentialing Center or another nationally recognized certifying body.
