Essential Functions:
- Configure, install, maintain and troubleshoot Invacare's local and wide-area data communications networks.
- Understand technical developments in computing, data, video and voice communications.
- Work closely with outside vendors and remote site contacts to resolve issues with data services including ticket generation, vendor access coordination and escalation as required.
- Work closely with other IT teams tactical and strategic network issues and projects.
- Work closely with facilities, deskside support and the help desk to provide client access to the Invacare LAN and WAN infrastructure.
- Assist in vendor projects to implement new technology and gain knowledge to support the daily operations of the environment.
- Manage all major building cabling projects. Define requirements, obtain and evaluate vendor bids and facilitate the project through to completion with adherence to established Invacare standards.
- Guarantee customer satisfaction to all users of corporate computing and data communications facilities. Ensure that all user suggestions, criticisms and complaints are resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
- Measure and forecast network performance and capacity. Develop ways of improving performance and extending the life of corporate data communications resources. Plan future capacity requirements.
- Assist in developing and monitoring key network quality and performance indicators.
- Maintain the integrity of the Invacare data communications environment.
- Accurately complete specific projects in compliance with IT standards.
- Assist in planning and testing the data center's disaster recovery plan.
- Complete all required training applicable to assigned position.
- Exhibit positivity, flexibility, creativity and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as requested or required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT or a related business area is preferred.
- Two years of experience in networking and data communications technology is required.
- Two years of experience working in all aspects of data communications hardware, network management and protocols. (Cisco and Arista routers, switches, TCP/IP, firewalls, F5 load balancers, monitoring systems, firewalls, etc.)
- Two years of experience working with data communications service offerings and transmission media. (MPLS, VPNs, SD-WAN, T1, wireless infrastructure, etc.)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
- Off-hours availability is required.
