HOW YOUR ROLE FITS INTO BOLDT:

In this role, you will provide technical engineering information that may include supporting a specific area such as mechanical, electrical, and/or civil/structural for supervisors, contractors, and craft employees to ensure construction work aligns with all engineering standards and codes, specifications, and design instructions. Your responsibilities will range from providing information on the actual physical construction of each segment to ensuring that environmental guidelines are met throughout the process. This is a hands-on role and you will spend time both in the office and at the physical construction site.

Required Skills

WHAT YOU GET TO DO:

• Review, analyze and resolve field construction problems or discrepancies.
• Research and resolve drawing interpretation problems and errors.
• Prepare and disseminate all required documentation records such as status reports, punch lists describing work to be done, sketches of work already completed, material requirement calculations, etc.
• Verify that all completed work aligns with applicable codes, drawings and specifications.
• Attend meetings with other contractors, client, or A/E representatives to coordinate design and construction efforts.
• Provide technical support and direction for project material control, procurement activities, cost control, and scheduling as required.
• Interpret design/drawings for crafts installing material.
• Establish exterior/interior grade and working lines for contractors or craft employees.
• Verify all completed work aligns with applicable codes, drawings, and specifications.
• Provide technical support and direction of project material control and procurement activities.
• Coordinate work schedules with subcontractors to complete work on time.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
• May report to Senior Project Engineer, Project Manager, or Director of Project Development regarding specific job duties and assignments.

Required Experience

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

• Four-year engineering, construction management degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience. Ideally, seeking a minimum of 2+ years of related experience with the desire to grow and develop.
• Understanding of construction equipment and techniques, drawings, and specifications, building materials and required standards applicable.
• Manages priorities well and takes on responsibility, interface and communicates effectively.
• Results oriented with dedication to serve the client and be a standout colleague.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to position objects and operate tools or controls. Employee frequently uses computer keyboard. The employee is occasionally required to position self to maneuver in confined or awkward spaces. The employee regularly is required to remain in a stationary position and move to access people or machinery or workspaces. Employee is occasionally required to ascend and/or descend a ladder or stairs to reach work areas. The employee must regularly move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds. The employee is regularly required to travel (as vehicle driver and as passenger on various modes of transportation) and frequently performs work on-site at construction work sites. Specific abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employee views computer monitor frequently. The employee is required to be able to optimally communicate while on the job site and throughout the completion of duties.

The working conditions of this position requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to maintain safety and prevent exposure to harmful materials. The environment for which this position functions may be exposed to prolonged loud noises and may contain scents and fragrances. May be requested to work additional hours and weekends.
