  • Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Distribution Supervisor, the Distribution Technician designs, develops, coordinates, and facilitates the execution of specified projects and initiatives set forth by the Company and the Management Team.

    Establishes project priorities and schedules consistent with the Company’s strategic plans and operating objectives. 

    Assists in the daily operational needs set forth by the Distribution Supervisor. 

    Provides specialized support and advice to Management, Operations, and Drivers in the development and implementation of specified projects, programs, software packages, and related operational procedures.

    Understands, supports, and actively promotes Tax-Air’s philosophy and commitment to safety and security.

    Required Skills

    Promotes and maintains a flexible, cooperative, team-oriented, and customer-focused attitude within and between departments, terminals, and divisions.

    Reviews and analyzes freight or software issues, determines best method for resolution, and notifies Operations Management of the recommended solution in a timely manner.  

    Designs and develops project plans to implement new programs, initiatives, and operating processes.

    Ensures effective, efficient, and timely customer relations.  Projects and maintains a positive and professional business attitude at all times.

    Assists in the entire Dispute Resolution Process and communicates with Delivery Drivers and Store Personnel, on a daily basis, regarding any issues, for all of Tax-Air’s Retail Distribution Clients.

    Provides all accounts with precise and pertinent scanner information data.  Coordinates the effective delivery of all customer 210 files.  Manages and troubleshoots all exceptions.

    Sets up and maintains files, records, and databases within areas of responsibility.

    Collaborates with the Billing Department on all pertinent issues, with regards to distribution clients, to ensure timely payment on all services granted. 

    Assists in the operations for all delivery terminals.  Consistently enforces Tax-Air’s customer expectations and service metrics upon those specific terminals and Drivers.  Provides input for corrective/preventative action, as needed.

    Demonstrates the desire and ability to learn new methods or ideas.  Adaptable to changing tasks, priorities, procedures, and protocols.

    Informs Manager, in a timely manner, of pertinent issues and information which warrants their knowledge, action, or resolution.

    Develops training criteria and updates all Driver and Operations Procedural Manuals for all computer scanning applications and software platforms. 

    Conducts new employee orientation and training sessions on subjects such as: scanning and computer platforms, quality improvement, office procedures, and efficiency metrics.

    Reviews policies and procedures for relevance and accuracy as they relate to the current or past projects; follows-up with Management accordingly.

    Processes and tracks specific freight movements within the specified software platform for accuracy.

    Consults, interacts, and collaborates with Terminal Personnel, Management, Consultants, and other internal/external staff, to facilitate the successful implementation of new or revised projects, programs, and procedures.

    Acts as the back-up to the Distribution Supervisor, in the event of absence. 

    Other duties as may be required.

    Required Experience

    Must possess advanced verbal and written communication and have good problem-solving skills, with excellent attention-to-detail and follow-up.

    Advanced skills in project planning and implementation.

    Skill in the analysis of systems, processes, and procedures.

    Must have excellent PC skills, with the ability to effectively and efficiently navigate within software applications.

    Skill in drafting documentation of policies and procedures.

    Must have strong analytical skills and math competencies.

    Must have the ability to perform efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment, adhere to strict deadlines, and adapt to multiple changing priorities.
