    RESTAURANT SUPPLY CHAIN SOLUTIONS, LLC, A YUM! BRANDS CO-OP, IS CURRENTLY   SEEKING AN ASSOCIATE MANAGER, OPERATIONS, TO JOIN THE TACO BELL CONCEPT TEAM. THE POSITION WILL BE LOCATED IN IRVINE, CA.  

     

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    This role will be responsible for tactical execution of Restaurant Margin Improvement (RMI) initiatives for the Taco Bell Concept. Other responsibilities include execution and management of Smallwares and Operational Supplies.

    • Drive ideation for new savings
    • Challenge the status quo in the search of Supply and Margin Optimization
    • Implement and monitor 20 to 40 margin improvement initiatives and Smallwares roll outs annually
    • Monitor, adjust and execute operational supply strategies

     

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

    Champion Restaurant Margin Improvement (RMI) by ensuring key stakeholders integrate goals and strategies to enable operating plan to deliver long-term annual operating profit margin.

     

    EXECUTE RMI IDENTIFICATION, COMMUNICATION, AND FULL SYSTEM ALIGNMENT (60%)

    • Maintain and enhance partnerships with all Concept functional and franchise leaders, RSCS Finance, Distribution, and Procurement members, as well as, Concept RMI Executive Steering Committee to facilitate and drive RMI initiatives in food, paper, assets, development and technology.

    • Evaluate initiative performance and provide ongoing updates to RMI cross-functional Core team and RSCS leadership.  This also includes actively engaging with RSCS Finance and RMI cross-functional category teams in validating savings, analyzing risk, exploring alternative suppliers, and optimizing processes.

    • Evolve RMI strategies to creatively drive new RMI ideation with key Concept cross-functional stakeholders, RSCS Procurement team, franchisees, suppliers, and Cross-Concept RMI counterparts.

    • Develop value-added RMI opportunities which continually strive to leverage the entire YUM! Brands system volume.

    • Prepare content for Monthly Director level alignment between RSCS, key Concept cross-functional stakeholders, and Franchise leaders to ensure execution of RMI objectives/strategies.

     

     TACTICAL RESOURCE FOR ALL OPERATIONS INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS (40%)

    • Manage operations supplies in Blue Yonder as required to assure supply and mitigate obsolescence risk.
    • Support Taco Bell Operations and Marketing teams to develop and execute LTO, Test and National Smallwares programs.
    • Coordinate spec changes internally with procurement and sales team.
    • Manage and track Smallwares and Operational supply obsolescence.
    • Ensure successful and flawless execution of all concept OPS/RMI initiatives: national, regional, local options, franchise, supersedes, and functional initiatives.
    • Ensure key learnings and best practices are captured to support future strategic planning and continuous improvement.

    Required Skills

    EDUCATION

    • Bachelor’s degree required in Supply Chain, Finance or other relatable major. Prefer a Master’s or MBA

     

    EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

    • Minimum of 3 to 5 years business experience in: Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, Procurement, Program Management, Logistics and/or Distribution
    • Quick service restaurant experience desired. Knowledge of Food and Packaging operations with a focus in continuous improvement.

     

    SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Strong organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and initiatives simultaneously
    • High degree of emotional intelligence to fully understand the dynamics of how to get things done indirectly as an influencer
    • Demonstrated success influencing diverse customers/stakeholders and leading teams with non-direct reports in cross-functional settings
    • Must have strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills.
    • Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal, with an emphasis on interpersonal and consensus building capabilities.
    • Ability to work at an elevated pace with efficiency and precision and a bias toward action.
    • Ability to facilitate brainstorming and ideation sessions
    • Experience using Blue Yonder or similar ERP program
    • Understanding of negotiation process and business savvy
    • Self-starter with ability to deliver results without daily supervision
