    THIS POSITION IS FOR MANN PACKING (A DEL MONTE COMPANY)

    THE DISPATCH SUPERVISOR plays a vital role in ensuring the company’s continued success. This position requires a person to be dependable, focused on safety and requires a person be flexible and cooperative. The Dispatch Supervisor should have extensive knowledge of DOT rules and regulations and possess the ability to successfully staff, recruit, and mentor CDL Drivers.

    AT TRICONT TRUCKING WE EXPECT RESULTS!

    First 30 Day Expectations:

    • Meet with the Regional Transportation Manager, Lead Driver, drivers, and other members of the DC Operations Team to understand the expectations of the Dispatch Supervisor position.
    • Become familiar with the operational aspects of the position.

    First 90 Day Expectations:

    • Continue expanding the assigned duties to include driver scheduling, payroll, and paperwork process for DOT, etc.
    • Identify the Terminals strengths, weaknesses and opportunities

    Responsibilities:

    • Ensure that Safety is the #1 focus within the operation
    • Oversee and coordinate the day to day operations (dock, trailer loading, driver scheduling, driver paperwork).
    • Make sure that the focus remains on Safety, Cost Control & Customer Service
    • Ensure that the drivers fully understand and complies with State & Federal regulations
    • Counsel drivers on company policies & procedures and monitor compliance
    • Provide guidance and direction to subordinates as well as monitoring performance
    • Act as the local point of contact for the Tricont Trucking Transportation
    • Ensure that all trips are assigned and covered
    • Make sure equipment is inspected to ensure that the Safety & mechanical items are in good working order and coordinate/schedule services & repairs to the equipment
    • Maintain adequate staffing and work with Corporate as needed to hire drivers
    • Train new drivers and provide existing drivers with training as needed
    • Work with the local DC personnel
    • Maintain a presence in the parking area and on the dock at the DC and make sure pre-trip and post trip inspections are done.
    • Spot check the loading of trailers to ensure that it’s being done correctly
    • Secure rental equipment (as needed)
    • Process the paperwork that’s associated with the operation
    • Operate equipment such as computers and telephones to exchange information with drivers, supervisors, the DC’s and other Tricont Trucking facilities
    • Spot check the equipment after it’s been used to ensure that there has been no damage.
    • Review schedules and maps to determine the optimum vehicle routes
    • Schedule and hold drivers meetings as needed
    • Ensure that the facilities are safe, clean and organized

    Qualifications/Competencies:

    • 1-year supervisory experience overseeing a staff of drivers or routes
    • Recommend Class A CDL Driver’s License but must have extensive knowledge of DOT regulations.
    • Ability to pass the Tricont Trucking background check and a DOT physical including functional capacity exam and drug screen
    • Ability to pass a criminal background check
    • Demonstrated ability of dealing effectively and in a cooperative manner with personnel/departmental staff
    • Commitment to working as a team member for the benefit of the organization
