Mail Services Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY: The Office of Compliance Services (OCS) promotes and monitors compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, including federal and state educational and instructional programs, Multilingual Learners, Special Education services, discipline, finance, facilities, health, safety and youth development. The Compliance Services Manager establishes and implements quality performance standards and accountability protocols for the New York City Department of Education. Performs related work.
REPORTS TO: Deputy Director (OCS)
DIRECT REPORTS: N/A
KEY RELATIONSHIPS: Executive Superintendents, Superintendents, Principals, Central program offices, and Borough Citywide Support Offices.

Required Skills Required Experience
A high school diploma or equivalent with at least one year of relevant administrative/operational support in manufacturing operations or office environment directly related to the duties of the job, OR demonstrated ability to meet the job requirements through a comparable number of years of work experience.
Experience with Adobe products and/or Printshop Mail preferred.
A minimum of 1 – 2 years of experience in Excel and/or MS Access required.
Ability to format and work with data and variables.
Must be able to work well under pressure.
Must be reliable and punctual.
Basic to advanced general computer skills
Ability to work varying shifts, overtime and weekends.
