    RESTAURANT SUPPLY CHAIN SOLUTIONS, LLC, A YUM! BRANDS CO-OP, IS CURRENTLY   SEEKING A DIRECTOR, PROTEIN PROCUREMENT, TO JOIN THE FOOD PROCUREMENT TEAM, IN LOUISVILLE, KY.

     

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    • This position is accountable for ongoing category leadership to include: supplier development, risk management, price forecasting, sustainable strategic sourcing, contingent supply, and category optimization. Strong knowledge of beef, pork, and/or chicken markets including animal production and processing. Role requires building and enhancing strong supplier partnerships to deliver performance excellence.  Supports Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, KFC, and A&W that has revenue Total spend managed:  $700MM

     

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

    Manage every aspect of procurement function for Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, KFC, and A&W across all red meat food items

    Develop and implement category strategies that maintain a competitive advantage, ensure supply, support business growth, and attain contingency protection while delivering the best supply chain total-cost scenario

    Lead strategic sourcing, contract negotiations and sourcing agreements with suppliers to secure competitive price levels that maintain the food safety and quality standards required by Yum!

    Have strong financial acumen with P&L management, budgets, ROI focused, asset investment and margins

    Exhibit strong knowledge in planning, forecasting, best practices and best in class management

    Work across protein team to drive value via optimization of production processes and capacity

    Meet all Cost of Goods Targets for Products managed

    Coach and develop peers and teammates across food & packaging procurement to drive additional value and to attain greater responsibilities within RSCS

    Partner with and support to Program Management function to ensure supply always 

    Develop strategic knowledge of red meat related procurement

    Build relationships with brand Finance, FSQA and FITeam to support development of all products. Assist with vendor selection and strategic negotiations

    Forge strategic relationships with brand FSQA teams to support and ensure all Yum! food safety initiatives and standards are adhered to in order to maintain quality at Yum! standards.

    • Assist with the enforcement of Food Safety and quality related programs at Taco Bell

    Provide strategic leadership for executable cost saving initiatives across all supported brand concepts

    Build relationships with all suppliers for products managed. Develop strategic relationships with suppliers of critical items and invest time and energy in maintaining those relationships

    Forge relationships with distributors to help work through Supply and Distribution opportunities.

    • Support all concept distributors for all concepts managed

    Collaboratively work with RSCS Risk Management team to develop, implement, measure and improve risk management strategies for products managed

    Develop strategic relationships with stakeholders and via contractual agreements to facilitate effective risk management strategies across all categories managed

    Collaboratively work with RSCS finance team to ensure all key reporting and/or forecasting is accurate and timely

    Be an active member of the Food & Packaging team in interviewing and selecting candidates for open positions

    Establish goals and objectives for all direct reports in the areas of job function and career growth

    Conduct well-prepared performance appraisals in a timely manner.

    Manage conflict to resolution based on in-depth evaluation of the situation and utilizing sound management skills and techniques

    Support all I/T related initiatives and ensure category is in compliance with expectations

    Work with direct reports to understand motivational needs on an individual basis

    Required Skills Required Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field, Master’s or MBA preferred.
    • Minimum of 10+ years’ business experience in one or a combination of the following areas: Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, Program Management.
    • Prior leadership role with large restaurant concept or CPG company.
    • Must have strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills and be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail is critical.
    • Proven record of establishing, building and maintaining relationships ranging from manager to senior executive levels.
    • Ability to collaborate with, influence and build strong cross-functional stakeholder relationships.
    • Must be an effective facilitator, influencer, and team builder. Presentation skills geared at Manager/Director levels.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Advanced Excel skills required
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Outlook).
    • Strategic leadership within large business enterprise.
    • Ability to develop and execute high level strategic strategy
    • Development and execution of presentations to senior level executives
    • Understanding of co-op and operation model within organization
    • Strong financial acumen and management of P&L, budget, ROI, asset investment and margin/profitability
    • Strong knowledge in planning, forecasting, best practices and best in class management
    • Some travel required.

  • Qualifications

    EDUCATION: High school diploma or its equivalent preferred.

    EXPERIENCE: Previous industrial/machine experience in manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.  Training will be provided.
