    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    The 19th Judicial Circuit Court is looking for an Administrative Assistant with experience providing customer service in a very busy environment.  Primary duties are assignment of cases, data entry of probation information, and extensive use of the telephone for notifying probation officers of appointments and answering questions. Act as backup for laboratory clerk.

     

    POSITION:     ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

    LOCATION:    WAUKEGAN, ILLINOIS, UNITED STATES

    SALARY:        $36,132 ANNUALLY

    JOB SUMMARY:  Carry out reception, customer service, administrative and general office duties and provide varied administrative support for Adult Probation. Your day will consist of varied work supporting the operations of Adult Probation The individual performs clerical work of moderate difficulty with a high degree of responsibility. Position requires heavy public contact in a busy environment.

     

    In order to be successful in this role you should have an Associate Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Individuals should be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, and Outlook).  Spanish language skills are a plus.  Testing of computer ability is required.   • Qualifications
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred with 3+ years' experience in legal word processing or legal field
    • Experience and exposure in any of the legal word processing tasks below would be an added advantage; Creating TOAs, TOCs, inserting automated cross references, converting PDFs to Word using a variety of software, applying Word styles using macros, troubleshooting problem documents including redlines and documents containing multiple numbering schemes, style separators, cross references, and other automated fields
    • Flexibility to work overtime as required
    • Ability to work through complex legal document markups and instructions in a timely and accurate manner
    • Ability to prioritize various requests and deadlines simultaneously
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to interact with client and team members in a professional and respectful manner at all times
