    Toolroom Machinist Wanted: Essential Tasks

    Analyze and interpret blueprints, schematics, and CAD drawings to create and build new fixtures, tools, and machine parts.

    Select appropriate raw materials and machine processes to ensure projects are completed to precise specifications.

    Proficiency in operating all toolroom machines, including Knee Mills, 3-5 axis mills, lathes, surface grinders, saws, etc.

    Utilize applied shop math, such as Geometry and Trigonometry, to determine the best approach for each task.

    Modify machines to control speed, material feed, or path of cut, ensuring high-quality products are produced within specifications.

    Verify finished workpiece conformance to required tolerances on design drawings using precision measuring equipment, such as sine plates, gauge blocks, Cadillac gauge, micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.

    Accurately document actions by reporting labor in the ERP system.

    Maintain a safe and clean work environment by performing daily housekeeping duties.

    Demonstrate the ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly.

    Take ownership of accomplishing new and diverse requests, contributing to the achievement of organizational goals.

    Follow all policies and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

    Always be accountable for your actions and act as a reliable team player.

    Good technical math skills (shop math, geometry, and trigonometry) and a high level of verbal/written communication skills are essential.

    Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities are highly valued.

    Be self-motivated and display a strong eagerness to learn.

    Education and Experience:

    High school diploma or GED equivalent.

    Proficiency in operating all toolroom machines, i.e., mills, lathes, grinders, saws, etc.

    Strong technical math skills (shop math, geometry, and trigonometry).

    Must be a United States Citizen or a US Permanent Resident.
