    RVNAhealth is seeking an experienced part-time Grant Writer. Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy, the Grant Writer will assist the Development Team through the research, writing, and submission of grant proposals and letters of interest. The Grant Writer will identify and secure new funding opportunities and renew existing grants that support RVNAhealth’s mission and strategic plan. The Grant Writer will also complete post-award grant reports.

    Candidates must have exceptional writing and interpersonal skills, experience in non-profit fundraising and communications, and a passion for the work and mission of RVNAhealth.

    Responsibilities:

    Research and identify prospective government, corporate and foundation funding opportunities.

    Collaborate with leaders throughout the organization to identify and understand funding gaps and programs/services in need of funding.

    Write high-quality letters of interest, narratives, proposals, and grant applications as directed to support ongoing, current and future RVNAhealth programs.

    Partner with relevant staff to build project budgets to accompany grant narratives.

    Conduct case-building research (analysis of demographic trends, industry data, educational research) to support grant proposals.

    Maintain a calendar and timeline of grant opportunities, pending applications, and post-award reports.

    Coordinate and follow-up on progress of submitted proposals.

    Comply with all grant reporting deadlines as required by grantors.

    Maintain contact with granting agencies and organizations.

    Work with Development Team to produce and send acknowledgement letters to funders in a timely manner.

    Work with Development Associate to ensure all donor and grant information is routinely recorded and maintained in the database.

    Maintain files on all grant-related correspondence, reports, and proposals in Development files.

    Maintain confidentiality of agency information.

    Model nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.

    Requirements:

    Bachelor’s Degree required

    Exceptional interpersonal, professional writing and research skills

    Superior written and verbal communication skills

    Minimum 2 years grant writing experience

    Proven track record of securing new funding opportunities and major grants with certifiable references

    Proficiency in researching, interpreting and analyzing data

    Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, Donor Database management

    Must posses the ability to collect, organize, analyze and interpret budget information

    Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and ability to implement systems and follow-up processes

    Motivated self-starter with ability to work both independently and collaboratively with minimal guidance
