The Per Diem Home Infusion Registered Nurse is responsible for providing safe administration of parenteral products along with professional nursing care for patients in their home.

Responsibilities:
Administer infusion therapy treatments to patients in the RVNAhealth service area
Perform ongoing patient assessments and notify the supervising clinician of all abnormal findings.
Insert and manage VADs for infusion therapy.
Monitor patients during infusion therapy to ensure safety and effectiveness of treatment.
Educate patients/caregivers regarding medication administration, care of the VAD, potential complications, and proper use of infusion equipment.
Provide continued support to patients and their families regarding infusion therapy medication and procedures and self-care at home.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including documentation of treatments, medications, and teaching and evaluation of patient response to medications.
Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality.
Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Registered Nurse. Certification in infusion therapy (CRNI) preferred.
Knowledge of the Infusion Nurses Society Standards of Practice.
Currently licensed to practice as an RN in the State of Connecticut.
Proficiency in IV insertion, infusion therapies, including antimicrobials, parenteral nutrition, pain medication and care and maintenance of VADs.
Knowledge of sterile processing techniques and infection control practices.
Strong assessment skills to monitor patient response to infusion therapy treatments.
