RWDC Industries is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant with Manufacturing and or Industrial/Commercial Construction accounting experience to join our team in Athens, Georgia.
Job Description:
- The Staff Accountant is a results-oriented team player who can work across the organization to complete financial reporting as well as daily operational financial requirements.
- The Staff Accountant will complete daily operational financial functions using accounting rules established by US GAAP, as well as practices and internal controls established by company.
- Ideally, the accountant would have a basic understanding or experience of an ERP system as well as strong knowledge of data management tools including lookups, fills, and pivot tables in excel.
- The primary focus of the position will be Fixed Assets, but the position will also have a number of General Accounting responsibilities.
Job Duties:
- Prepares journal entries, supporting schedules, and account reconciliations. Performs analysis of balance sheet accounts, financial relationships, and trends.
- Determines transactional classifications and account codes for transactions to aid in the financial reporting process.
- Monitors and reports account and budget variances. Assists in the development of standards, forecasts, and budgets.
- Generates monthly and annual reports and provides variance analysis to senior management.
- Prepares supporting schedules for auditors and government entities as well as for internal reporting.
- Proves out Fixed Asset records with Physical Inventory counts and generate adjustments as needed.
- Stays in communication with plant personnel to maintain an understanding of production changes and the impact of these changes on Fixed Asset balances recorded in the GL.
- Carry out month-end financial tasks including, but not limited to payroll, accrued liabilities, pcard, and fixed assets.
- Partner in accounting for the operational impacts of new plant construction.
- Plan and implement projects accounting within Infor for Research and Development as well as Construction Projects.
- Participate in year-end audits.
- Assist Finance team in setting budgets and forecasts.
- Make adjusting journal entries as needed for month end and year end account reconciliations and accruals.
- Assist in developing expansion plans based on financial evaluations.
- Implement policies and ensure compliance regarding accrued liabilities, fixed assets and other areas as needed.
- Document standard operating procedures, system access needed and training materials.
Must have 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing accounting environment.
Education: BS in Accounting preferred
