Job Description
Racemark International, LLC is a Tier 1 Automotive Supplier. The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities and other related financial activities in the Finance Department at Racemark. This candidate should have a strong manufacturing background in the accounting field.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: To assist controller with daily and month end activities relating to Accounts Receivable-foreign & domestic, Sales Tax Returns, Commissions, Bank Reconciliations, Fixed Assets/Depreciation, and month-end general ledger journal entries/reconciliations/accruals relating to AR/Sales. May assist with annual budget process, relating to sales budget and cash forecasts relating to AR balances Interaction will include vendor and customer contacts. Internally, they will work with other accounting personnel, department managers, sales people, as well as all other Racemark associates.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Understanding of general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization including US and Swiss operations.
- Assists Controller in preparing financial statements.
- Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly and verifies deposits.
- Full cycle AR, customer invoicing to cash receipts, AR collections/customer remittance reconciliations.
- Send customer invoices daily. Apply daily cash receipts.
- Gather remittance advice's from customer portals and reconcile to our records.
- Research any credit claims made. Collect repayment or issue credit memos, as necessary.
- Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
- Prepare annual sales tax return for sales taxes collected.
- Prepares GL Journal entries (accruals, reclass, etc)
- Assist Controller with month-end close process & account reconciliations
- Calculate commission payable and commission accrual at month end.
- Maintain fixed asset records, issue asset numbers as requested, record invoices and schedule/record depreciation monthly.
- Work with Racemark team members to record disposals.
- Assists with year-end physical inventory
- Assist Controller with annual budget and/or cash forecast as it relates to AR/Sales.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
COMPETENCIES
- Previous work history as Staff Accountant or Equivalent in a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Team player attitude.
- Excellent analytical & organizational skills, attention to detail and problem-solving skills required.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP concepts and cost accounting principles.
- Ability to correctly prepare tax reports.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite Excel required including pivot tables and vlookup.
- Plex or similar ERP software experience required.
- Work independently and proactively. Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion with sensitive data.
- Proven ability to meet strict deadlines. Multi-task with conflicting priorities.
- Understanding of currency exchange.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field preferred
- Ability to adjust to prolonged periods of sitting a desk and working on a computer.
- This is a hands-on working environment. Must have the ability to work onsite at the facility.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
