RAD Diversified is a Real Estate Investment Trust. We are looking for a Real Estate Controller to assist in managing our accounting department. The ideal candidate will be an exceptional communicator with an analytical mind, attention to detail and sound judgment with prior experience managing a diverse portfolio. The Controller will report to our Chief Financial Officer.

This position will be responsible for Fund Accounting, Real Estate Development Accounting and Finance, Property Management Residential, Commercial Real Estate and farmland.

• Oversee the accounting and reporting requirements on fund investments including set up accounts for complex multi-tier investment entities
• Reviews monthly, quarterly and annual portfolio level consolidated financial statements and other client reporting
• Responsible for oversight of fund level reporting and coordination of client equity contributions and distributions
• Manage payroll for our CA, PA, ID and FL locations
• Provide support for Chief Operating Officer, Director of Accounting, Property Managers, and various other Executives as needed.
• Work closely with Loans and Investor Relations department
• Schedule, prepare and facilitate weekly transaction meeting for all Executive and support teams
• Establish a companywide accounting filing system to streamline time efficiency
• Review and verify financial information including monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for funds on Joint Venture accounts
• Sets up, analyzes, and reviews joint venture structures and underlying inquiries, subscriptions, and redemptions terms and conditions
• Reviews and signs-off on property and fund level bank account reconciliations
• Troubleshoots escalated issues and ensures internal and external investor requests are handled timely and accurately
• Review and analyze performance on real estate investments and asset depreciation
• Maintain a thorough understanding of legal entities and debt structure, prepare interest billings, and monitor compliance by the debtor with specific deal requirements
• Perform internal audits, Coordinates and insures completion of annual external audits by required deadlines
• Reviews P&L calculations at the fund and investor levels
• Provide supervision to individual employees within single accounting functions
• Responsible for oversight and development of Staff
• Recommend accounting staff recruitment, promotion, corrective action and termination
• Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies
• Degree from a four-year college or university program with an emphasis in accounting, finance or related field required
• A minimum of six years accounting experience
• Prior experience in real estate/property management accounting
• Experience in GAAP Accounting, including experience calculation straight-line rent and maintain fixed assets and depreciation in accordance with capitalization policies.
• Knowledge of REITs, SEC Reg A compliance is a plus
• CPA, CMA or other relevant professional certifications a plus.
• Software: AppFolio, Sage and Paylocity
