    Halfaker has an opening for a BUSINESS ANALYST to join our talented, dynamic team. The key responsibilities for this position include:

     

    • Experience in managing the daily routine operations and maintenance of information technology software and system applications
    • The candidate must be able to communicate with end-users to understand issues related to end-user applications and functionality requirements
    • Work with internal and external sources, end-users, developers and other application administrators to ensure functional use of systems matches customer needs. 
    • The candidate will also be required to enter data, process information and communicate with peers, subordinates and departmental management to ensure the function applicability and operation of customer systems and software. 
    • The candidate will interact with all facets of the information technology stack within the customer organization. 
    • The candidate must have proven experience in gathering data and information and then converting it into written narratives, reports and abstracts as may be required to support management requests
    • ​​​Analyzes the business objectives of various stakeholders and develops solutions that fit their business needs and issues
    • Performs quality assurance and evaluation procedures to ensure project and system requirements are satisfied
    • Maintains current and accurate system documentation
    • Provides deliverables within the time-frames defined by appropriate personnel and reviews them to ensure quality standards are met​​

    Required Skills

    • Collect and communicate business and technical data and information in simple language
    • Maintain system documentation
    • Interact with users and evaluate products
    • Troubleshoot and resolve reported problems
    • Provide application performance tuning
    • Will be required to review and follow governing regulations to ensure proper program support
    • Will be a buffer between technical user-community staff while managing the information expectations required for systems and applications
    • Collaborate with hardware, operating system, DBA and other technical teams to ensure proper environment integration requirements
    • Participate in regular customer meetings to record technical information for simple translation as required
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong attention to detail and thorough in completing work tasks
    • Strong time management and coordination skills and the ability to adjust to change​​

    Required Experience

    • A good understanding of software design lifecycle process
    • Previous experience with operating systems, RDBMS (SQL, Oracle etc.)
    • Previous end-user level application support and troubleshooting
    • Ability to work well in a team environment
    • Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills are required
    • Capable to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks simultaneously
    • A minimum of 5 years’ progressive experience as an application administrator
    • Associate degree in Business, Information Systems/Technology, or other analytical or technical discipline preferred. (4-years of relevant experience may be substituted for education)
