Job Title: Radiation Therapist – Radiation/Oncology
Rate: Up to $2800.00 weekly
Location: Utica, NY
Day Shift (8H) - (8A-4P)
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a hospital-based radiation oncology department.
- Prior work with advanced treatment techniques (IMRT, VMAT, SBRT, SRS).
Licenses/Certifications
- Must have NY license as a Radiation Therapist.
- AHA BLS certification required.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program.
- Current ARRT (T) certification.
- Current state Radiation Therapist license (if required by state).
- Experience with Varian 2300ix and Varian EDGE TrueBeam required.
- Knowledge of Siemens CT large bore systems for simulation required.
- Experience using ARIA electronic medical records required; familiarity with EPIC strongly preferred.
- Strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
- Excellent communication and patient-centered care skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver radiation therapy treatments to patients according to physician prescriptions and established protocols.
- Operate Varian 2300ix and Varian EDGE TrueBeam linear accelerators with accuracy and confidence.
- Perform CT simulation procedures using Siemens large bore CT equipment, ensuring proper patient positioning and immobilization.
- Accurately document treatment parameters, patient positioning, and procedural notes in the ARIA oncology information system.
- Navigate and retrieve clinical information in EPIC as needed for patient care coordination.
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists, dosimetrists, physicists, nurses, and support staff to ensure seamless workflows and high-quality patient care.
- Provide compassionate and clear communication to patients, ensuring comfort and understanding throughout the treatment process.
- Verify daily treatment plans, perform quality assurance checks, and adhere to all safety, regulatory, and infection control standards.
- Report equipment issues promptly and participate in maintaining a safe clinical environment.
- Support departmental projects, continuing education, and performance improvement initiatives
