    OPPORTUNITY:

    The Design Researcher Intern position will play a key role in the continued growth and success of the company.  Working closely with the Principal Design Researcher, you will contribute to building a world-class product development department.

     

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Lead one project to identify new white space opportunities for Radio Flyer’s business, which includes defining the problem space, planning and conducting the user research, analyzing the data and developing concepts to solve the problem
    • Support with planning and conducting in-depth ethnographic research for wagons, tricycles, ride-ons or other product categories to identify actionable consumer insights and brainstorm new concepts to grow the business
    • Support the designers and engineers during development by scheduling child testing at Radio Flyer’s indoor Play Lab and outdoor Test Track to check function, ergonomics, foreseeable use, parent/child interactions
    • Re-mine archived user research by conducting in-depth analysis and synthesis to uncover user insights that lead to new product development opportunities
    • Organize the reference library of research data including photos and videos of the research conducted to make it more accessible and user friendly for all Flyers

     

    WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:

    • You have at least 2 years of experience with a range of qualitative and quantitative design research methods
    • You are pursuing a degree in Psychology, Anthropology, Social Science, or a related field
    • You are pursuing a Master’s degree in Design Research, Design Strategy, Innovation or a related field
    • You have a passion for finding creative ways to conduct user research
    • You can share a portfolio that indicates breadth and depth in your design research experience
    • You enjoy communicating and presenting user stories in a vivid and inspiring way
