JOB DESCRIPTION:
Join Baxter Aerospace and shape the future of firefighting with our Dragonfly autonomous aircraft, a groundbreaking vertical takeoff platform designed to clear the air—literally. Our mission is to combat wildfires with innovative, scalable technology, delivering real-time data and paving the way for autonomous water-dropping solutions that protect lives and landscapes.
As a Radio Frequency / Electrical Engineer, you’ll take ownership of projects from design through deployment—collaborating, building, testing, and delivering systems that make a real-world impact. We’re looking for an engineer with approximately five years of hands-on radio frequency design and test experience who also brings strong electrical engineering expertise. Ideal candidates thrive in fast-paced environments and can manage projects with confidence and precision. This role includes diagnosing and troubleshooting circuit boards, conducting electrical design reviews, and selecting components for RF and avionics systems.
ABOUT OUR COMPANY:
At Baxter Aerospace, we are building a new way to fight forest fires in a digitally connected world. We are known for our innovation, precision, and commitment to quality. We foster a collaborative and fast-paced environment where excellence is both expected and rewarded.
We are looking for top-tier team members to join our mission in advancing satellite communication equipment used for critical missions like aerial firefighting, camera data transmission from aircraft, and deployed team coordination.

Lead the design, simulation, and implementation of RF hardware and subsystems.
Develop and validate antennas, transceivers, filters, and radio frequency links for UAS and ground-based systems.
Diagnose and troubleshoot circuit boards and electronic assemblies.
Perform component selection and conduct detailed electrical design reviews.
Conduct hands-on testing and debugging using lab tools (e.g., network analyzers, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers).
Integrate RF and electrical systems with the Dragonfly platform and other Baxter payloads.
Interface with customers and field teams to gather requirements and deploy working systems.
Collaborate with mechanical, avionics, and software teams from concept through shipment.
Support fabrication and shop activities to enable rapid design iteration.
SKILLS:
5+ years of hands-on antenna and RF system design experience in aerospace or similar field.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Experience with diagnosing mixed-signal circuit boards and embedded hardware.
Proficiency in selecting and evaluating electrical components for custom designs.
Strong understanding of CAD tools (Altium).
Familiarity with RF simulation tools (e.g., Advanced Design System).
Comfortable with electrical test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies).
Experience with communication technologies: Wi-Fi, satellite communications, LoRa, UHF/VHF.
Knowledge of embedded systems and system integration.
Bonus: Familiarity with software-defined radios or airborne RF payloads.
Passion for our mission to revolutionize wildfire mitigation through autonomous technology.
EXPECTED HOURS/SCHEDULE:
Full Time: Monday-Friday 8am-6pm.
