Radiology Specialist Assistant
Pay: $52.09 – $85.95 per hour

Schedule: Fulltime
Job Summary
The Radiology Specialist Assistant provides advanced patient care and procedural support under the supervision of a physician. This role assists with diagnostic and interventional radiology procedures, performs patient assessments, and collaborates with the radiology care team to deliver safe, high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide patient care within scope of practice and approved privileges
Perform patient assessments and assist with treatment planning
Assist physicians during radiologic and interventional procedures
Perform fluoroscopic procedures including Upper GI, small bowel follow-through, and barium enemas
Perform joint injections under fluoroscopic or ultrasound guidance
Conduct paracentesis, thoracentesis, and image-guided biopsies
Assist with abscess drain placement, bone marrow biopsies, and breast biopsies
Prepare procedure rooms and maintain clinical equipment and supplies
Educate patients, obtain informed consent, and provide pre/post-procedure instructions
Document procedures and maintain accurate patient records
Follow all radiation safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or related field
Certifications
ARRT certification in Radiography required
RRA (Registered Radiologist Assistant) or PA with radiology focus preferred
BLS required; ACLS preferred
Licensure
Must meet New York State licensure requirements
