Position Overview
CLFC Healthcare & Communications is seeking a Radiology Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging at a federal metropolitan detention center in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. You will operate radiographic equipment to produce diagnostic-quality images for physician interpretation, maintain imaging equipment, and manage radiation safety protocols in a correctional healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations including chest, extremity, spine, and abdominal imaging
- Position patients correctly for optimal image quality while maintaining security awareness in a correctional setting
- Process and quality-check radiographic images before submission for physician interpretation
- Maintain radiographic equipment per manufacturer specifications and report malfunctions
- Implement radiation safety protocols including ALARA principles, lead shielding, and dosimetry monitoring
- Maintain quality control logs, equipment calibration records, and regulatory compliance documentation
- Document all procedures in the BOP electronic health record and PACS system
- Coordinate with outside imaging facilities for advanced studies (CT, MRI, ultrasound) when ordered
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or certificate in Radiologic Technology from an accredited program
- ARRT certification in Radiography
- Active state radiologic technologist license (Puerto Rico or any U.S. state)
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of clinical radiography experience
- U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to pass federal background investigation
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency
- Additional ARRT certifications (CT, mammography)
- Correctional or institutional healthcare experience
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary: $62,000 - $80,000 annually
