    E&M PHYSICS RESEARCH SCIENTIST

    Systems Engineering Group, Inc. (SEG) has a job opening for a full-time Research Scientist and is seeking enthusiastic candidates wanting a challenging career with good growth opportunities.  Responsibilities will include:

    • Performing Research and Analysis on advanced missile defense topics with a specific focus on E&M phenomenology such as RF, and EO/IR signatures and digital signal processing
    • Contribute to technical/strategic roadmap for future modeling and simulation development
    • Developing prototype physics algorithms and contributing to the creation of software tools based on these prototypes
    • Documenting progress and results of research and analysis, including briefing internal and external customers, writing white papers, and contributing to contract proposals

    Required Skills

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance (active clearance preferred)

    • M.S. with Significant Research Experience or Ph.D. in physics, mathematics, or engineering, with significant research and/or analysis experience in Electricity and Magnetism (specific experience in Radar Frequency, Electro-optical, or Infrared Signatures/Emissions, or sensor signal processing preferred)

    • 0-10 years direct work experience in E&M physics research, analysis, or modeling and simulation

    • Superb analytical, logical, and problem-solving skills

    • Significant mathematical background in areas such as statistics, linear algebra, complex analysis, differential equations, Monte Carlo methods, or numerical methods preferred

    • Strong computation skills (Matlab or Python required, C/C++ preferred)

    • Experience working on complex research projects

    • Ability to work independently or on a team

    • Demonstrated ability to communicate well through written documentation and oral presentations

    • Demonstrated ability to assume leadership roles on project tasks
