    JOB SUMMARY:

    Working within a team as a Consultant you will participate in all areas of project delivery from completing detailed research and analyses to supporting the delivery of more big picture solutions, findings, and recommendations. Our services include long-range financial planning, utility cost allocation, and rate-setting, economic assessments, utility valuation, and management consulting services. As a Consultant, you will work with other staff to complete quantitative and qualitative analyses that support the various project engagements and services provided to our clients, many of which involve the creation and use of financial models and Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. You will also assist in preparing and delivering reports and presentations that summarize our project findings, and recommendations to our clients, and contribute to marketing and proposal efforts.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Analyze and structure large data sets and summarize information in an easily understood format
    • Use graphs and other infographics to visualize data analyses and results
    • Perform industry research and develop summary materials for team members and clients
    • Develop complex financial and economic models in Microsoft Excel
    • Prepare MS PowerPoint presentations for delivery of findings to clients and stakeholders
    • Utilize technical writing skills to produce and edit reports
    • Maintain effective, professional attributes while dealing with clients & colleagues

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Two to five years' experience performing financial analyses
    • Bachelor's degree (mathematics, finance, economics, accounting, engineering, or other related fields)
    • Modeling proficiency and experience using MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Experience, interest, and aptitude in government finance, economics, business valuation, and/or accounting.
    • Attention to detail and taking responsibility for timely delivery of work
    • Experience analyzing large data sets
    • Excellent written skills including reporting analytical results
    • Ability to work independently through complex problems
    • Excellent oral communication skills including presenting analytical results to clients or stakeholders
    • Diligent, enthusiastic, and collaborative attitude
    • Ability to work within a small team, sometimes spread across a broad geography
    • ·Willingness to travel overnight for project and job functions as needed

    PREFERENCES:

    • Experience with relational databases.
    • Certifications in finance, accounting, engineering, or valuation are a plus.
