    DESCRIPTION:  Railhead Inc. has an immediate opening for a Network Administrator with a minimum of a current SECRET Security Clearance.  This position will directly support 611th Air and Space Operations Center (611 AOC) at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Anchorage, Alaska.  The chosen individual will provide technical and administrative support for systems installation, testing, administration, maintenance, and programming, as well as provide operation and maintenance support of C4I systems to include network administration, troubleshooting and repair of existing systems and/or networks.  The candidate will monitor the status of projects, prepare milestone reports, and present status reports to program managers and client staff.

    The successful candidate will provide critical biometrics system administration and operations, and maintenance support to include technical support services for the US Army on the biometrics system, handheld biometrics collection platforms.  Client and Server platforms; to include planning, operation, optimization, security administration, maintenance, and network management. Individual must be self-motivated and able to handle daily tasks on their own with little supervision.      PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Have a solid knowledge of Cisco Network IOS, Windows server, and various UNIX operating systems.
    • Coordinate with the local help desk, higher level help desk, program management office help desk and vendor help desk to resolve trouble calls that cannot be resolved locally.
    • Utilize the USAF standard trouble ticketing application to log, track, and close customer trouble tickets.
    • Manage user network shares, permissions, and quotas.
    • Manage network printers and scanners.
    • Maintain network hardware.
    • Monitor network performance, correct network performance issues to restore the network to optimal performance.
    • Maintain network drawings/diagrams to include rack diagrams.  Engineer the network to ensure maximum performance.
    • Support, configure, optimize, and resolve issues related to Storage Area Networks (SANs) and Network Attached Storage (NAS).
    • Report suspicious activities identified through monitoring logs and audit files.
    • Review and monitor network logs, identify network deficiencies and areas where performance can be improved, and make corrective changes.
    • Assist in the research, evaluation, testing, selection, procurement, implementation and maintenance of new hardware/systems.
    • Document network configurations and develop and/or update standard operating procedures and training materials.
    • Be familiar with Boundary Security System (BSS) to include Cisco routers and switches.
    • Be familiar with Network Storage Appliance (NETAPP).
    • Possess current knowledge of DoD Information Security Policies and Programs for COMPUSEC and INFOSEC, multi-level security.
    • Possess state-of-the-art knowledge of World Wide Web, Intelink, and intranet technology, processes, and applications.
    • Have an understanding of military operations, organizations, and operational information requirements.
    • Must possess good written and oral communication skills, be customer service oriented, and possess project management skills.
    • Demonstrate an ability to methodically and proactively analyze problems and identify solutions.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Currently possess a DoD SECRET or TS/SCI security clearance.
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical field with 8+ years of systems administration or relevant IT experience.
    • Currently possess DoD 8570 at the IAT level II - Security+ CE
