    DESCRIPTION:  Railhead Inc. has an immediate opening for an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN/SYSTEM ADMIN II with a TS/SCI SECURITY CLEARANCE WITH POLYGRAPH. The position will be ~20% Engineering Technician and ~80% System Administration

    QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Engineering Technician shall have an Associate's degree in computer technology or two (2) years of full time work in a High Performance computer field that can be substituted for the AA degree. The Engineering Technician must have experience with an understanding of the concepts, procedures and guidelines to solve highly complex problems in the maintenance and hardware/software network infrastructure. Experience performing system set-up, experiments and diagnostics to evaluate printed circuit board exchanges, and troubleshoot and make component repairs based on test results. Knowledge and experience of LINUX Operations Systems. Knowledge and experience in electronics component repair. Ability to communicate and work well in an effective team environment. Ability to lift ~50 lbs.
    • System Admin II shall have a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field, be able to perform all functions of a System Administrator I, and have five (5) years of demonstrable experience in system administration and support of a large client-server based IT enterprise.  Or the individual shall have five (5) years of full time computer science work can substitute for the Bachelors Degree, be able to perform all functions of a System Administrator I, and have five (5) years of demonstrable experience in system administration and support of a large client-server based IT enterprise.  This experience shall include installation, configuration, and networking of UNIX and/or NT based platforms.  This experience shall include: creating, modifying and deleting user accounts, performing system back-ups, and maintaining system configuration files.  Individual shall have a fundamental understanding of operating systems and be familiar with either UNIX or NT commands or utilities at the user level.  Also, experience shall include the installation and configuration of hardware, operating systems, and commercial software packages.  Individual shall be able to develop and implement enterprise backup/recovery strategies, server configuration and consolidation, and verification of the health and status of the entire IT infrastructure.  Individual shall be able to provide support for the enterprise services such as DNS, NFS, and e-mail.
