Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Check your assigned station at the beginning of your shift to insure proper setting and cleanliness of tables, chairs, and floor.
Be knowledgeable of all menu items, their ingredients, what to serve them with, their garnish, and their methods of preparation. Be prepared to answer any questions about the menu in a direct concise manner. If you have questions about an item, ask your manager.
Look at what you are serving. If something is not correct, have the bartender/kitchen staff correct it or let your manager know; do not take it to the guest!
May take orders for and serve light meals and hors d'oeuvres.
May request identification from customers when legal age is questioned.
Computes bill and accepts payment.
Do all assigned set-up and side work as per set-up sheets and cleaning schedule.
You are responsible for all your receipts and any missing will be closed to cash. You are responsible for those tickets.
Relate all guest comments to the manager on duty. This includes good or bad comments about any area of the hotel, not just the bar/restaurant. Solicit guest comments through use of comment cards.
Standing, speaking, hearing, reading, writing, able to carry 10-30 lbs., walking, lifting, reaching overhead, pushing, pulling, bending, walking & standing for long periods of time. Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
