We are hiring a Senior Java Engineer for our client's team in Richmond, Virginia.

THE ROLE:
As a Senior Java Engineer, you will work in a team to build analytics products in a key strategic platform using emerging tools and technologies. The team works in a significant environment that gives ample opportunities to use creative ideas to take on complex analytical problems. You will have the opportunity every single day to work with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and will be able to develop a close team dynamic with coworkers from around the globe.
YOU WILL:
- Work as a senior developer with extensive hands-on development for the entire SDLC
- Build solutions to support data and analytics products through web applications, APIs, web services, and data processing
- Work closely with product owners, technology partners to understand and clarify requirements
- Analyze, isolate issues and resolve them
- Produce system design documents and lead technical walk trough’s
- Continuously improve the architecture and quality of the code
WHO YOU ARE:
- You're an experienced Java Engineer with 5+ years of industry experience designing and building production-ready applications
- You have experience shipping large projects with multiple dependencies across technical and non-technical teams
- Strong expertise and knowledge in Core Java, Data Structures, Multithreading, Microservices, Spring Boot
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, other technical fields, or equivalent experience
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED:
- Proficient with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies like Agile, Test-driven development.
- Knowledgeable in working with building software in the Financial Industry and Capital Markets
- Excellent communication skills are essential, with strong verbal and writing proficiencies
- Spark, NoSql preferably Cassandra, AWS, AKKA, Container Technologies like Docker, Kubernetes
