COMPANY OVERVIEW
Random Bit is a technology consulting company that specializes in planning and managing complex IT change initiatives. We are currently guiding a large customer through a complex change initiative that involves redeveloping a legacy on-prem custom business application stack in the AWS cloud using 100% cloud-native technologies. Our responsibilities cover the entire range from strategic consulting; to solution, security, and technical architectures; to implementation support.
JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of the AWS Solution Architect is to provide leadership and subject-matter expertise to development teams that build cloud-native solutions on AWS. Based on a thorough understanding of how to efficiently build high-quality, cloud-native applications on AWS, the architect will design and prototype application components and as necessary provide guidance to the rest of the developer team on how to apply their skills to accomplish cloud-native solutions on AWS.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Design and engineer 100% AWS cloud-native application components
- Develop solution prototypes to demonstrate suitability and interoperability of chosen components, and to establish patterns for adoption by development team members
- In the context of solution prototypes, write high-quality, efficient code in Python and JavaScript without guidance
- Provide ongoing guidance and coaching to development team members
- Provide AWS cloud-native subject-matter expertise to developers
- Conduct code reviews and feedback on implementation patterns
- Capture implementation patterns into development standards and architecture best practices, as needed
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Experience:
- Held a development position for at least 5 years
- Held a technical development lead position for at least 5 years
- Held a solution architect position for at least 10 years
- Completed a large integration project
- Completed a BI project
Industry Knowledge
- Enterprise Application Integration Patterns
- Domain Driven Development
- Test driven development
- Data modelling of API, Domain and Reporting (BI)
- UML
- ArchiMate
- Agile
Leadership Experience
- Leadership role in projects with more than 50 people
- Principal Architect of project (> $25M)
- Agile (at least 5 years)
Technical Experience
- Java and Python and JavaScript
- Docker
- CI/CD
- TibCo or Oracle Fusion or MuleSoft
- Jira and Confluence
- AWS implementation (minimum 2 years)
- Identity and Access Management (IAM)
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Industrial Engineering or Electronic Engineering (required)
- AWS Solutions Architect Certified (required)
- AWS Developer Certified (preferred)
TYPE AND LOCATION:
