Job Description
This position is M-F on-site in Cambridge work environment is roughly 60% Lab and 40% Office ( Next Gen office)
- Ideal candidate has BS in Medical engineering or Biomedical engineering.
- 2+ years of experience working in the lab environment at a university, government, or industry
- Experience in operation of oscilloscope, digital power supply, multi-meter, signal generator and general measurement instruments.
- The engineer will lead in testing prototypes including mechanical, electrical, and software components.
- She or he will work with an engineering team to get initial instructions, develop test protocols, perform the tests following test protocols, record detailed test results and write test reports. She or he will also help assemble and maintain test fixtures and procure and maintain test equipment.
Following are the detailed tasks.
- Read SOP, protocol, and execute it
- Develop test protocols with input from engineering team
- Test fixture and test tools assembly
- Test equipment setup and maintenance
- Lab supplies procurement
- Test data collection and test log compiling
- Issue reports to engineering team
Requirement:
- Hands-on data analysis skills and statistics with Microsoft Excel or other software tools
- Experience working with LabView
- Experience with installing software drivers on PCs for interfacing lab equipment
- Preferred past experience in design of experiments
- Previous experience in using image-processing software is a plus
- Previous experience in medical device testing is a plus
- Ability to closely follow instructions and perform tests without supervision
- Strong trouble shooting and problem solving skills
- Very experienced user in MS excel and MS Word
- Good communication skills in reading and writing of test procedure, protocol and report
- Able to lift 25 pound or more
