    Job Description: Operates, precision radar instrumentation systems.  Performs launch and other mission support as scheduled using standard operating procedures.  Participates in mission planning, as required.

     

    Essential Functions:

    • Operates instrumentation, communication and test equipment
    • Analyzes radar tracking equipment and system problems to resolution and recommends revisions or adjusts and implements actions as approved
    • Maintains objective quality evidence, configuration documentation, property, logistics, supply, security, facility and classified accounts as required
    • Identifies systemic problems and trends, recommends improvements and implements actions as approved
    • Prepares daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports as required
    • Assists in modifications, sustainment, depot-level actions and systems checks/calibrations
    • Tracks, collects and maintains data associated with customer and calibration requirements
    • Trains less experienced personnel on all areas of site operations and documentation
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Required Skills

    • Good personal computer and business solutions software skills (e.g. Microsoft Office)
    • Good organizational skills (e.g. time management, administrative)

    Required Experience

    • Large scale instrumentation operations or maintenance experience desired
    • Some Knowledge of working with standard electronics test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Frequency Counters, Pulse Generators, and analog/digital meters
    • Some experience working with property control, logistics and quality standards 
    • CompTIA Security + certification or equivalent or DoD 8570 IA certification desired. If not certified at the time of hire, certification must be granted within 6 months.
    • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project requirements.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Top Secret Security clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship or U.S. naturalization
    • Valid U.S. driver’s license
    • U.S. passport required

     

    Work Environment:

    • Occasionally move, transport, install and position equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
    • Occasionally ascend/descend, and traverses, work areas at heights of approximately 20 feet or more
    • Establish and maintain effective working relations with employees and the public
    • Must be able to interface with all levels of personnel in a multi-cultural, team-oriented environment
    • This position is remote overseas assignment on the Eastern Range in Radar on Ascension Island, South Atlantic Ocean, in support of daily, special test and launch operations with no family accommodations
