Company:Carnival Cruise Line Area of Interest:Marine Operations Location:Miami State:Florida Job Title:Fleet Operations Center Watch Manager We are currently seeking a Fleet Operations Center Watch Manager to serve as shore side watch stander/leader in the Carnival Cruise Line, Miami-based Fleet Operations Center (FOC). You will be interacting with multiple shore side departments to provide robust situational awareness and decision-making support for senior shore side and shipboard leaders. Essential Functions Monitor routine fleet current operations Create and deliver reports, notifications, and briefs on fleet activities, deviations, and events Includes support to monitoring fuel performance Manage near-term operational issue responses, to include coordinating with shipboard leadership teams, shore side marine &amp; guest operations personnel, and external public and private partners Includes responding to alerts generated in Neptune or other decision-support tools Coordinate with shipboard leadership teams to develop courses of action in response to itinerary deviations, short-notice ship requirements, and disruptive events Monitor for irregular conditions that may cause itinerary deviations or necessitate operational changes When possible, propose proactive courses of action to maintain continued safe ship operations avoid negative surprises to guests Manage situational awareness displays, ensuring accuracy of reporting data and availability of current operational data for multiple Carnival operational divisions When required, notify senior company leaders of situations that present potential danger to guest, crew, and vessels Activate and moderate Carnival Irregular Operations Team (CIOT) conferences, and/or activate the Shore side Incident Response Plan (SIRP) Provide associated support to other Carnival Corp FOCs as requested or directed Receive, assess, and verify ship voyage plans for safety and compliance with company procedures Assist Director, Nautical Operations with nautical itinerary development, long-term standard route development, and resolution of operational nautical issues This will also include support to developing long term berthing plans and arrangements Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Nautical Academy and/or Marine Engineering degree preferred 1st or 2nd officer license or equivalent military experience preferred 5+ years leadership experience in ship operations and safety related functions Service as a ship's deck or engine officer, preferably of significant vessels in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, the cruise industry, the tanker/offshore industry, or other shipping sectors Shore side operations center experience preferred Strong analytical and problem solving skills Effective communication skills across multiple media forms Effective interpersonal and relationship-building skills High degree of self-motivation, tenacity, and drive Experience in knowledge management and managing complex audio/visual displays and dashboards preferred Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, &amp; Powerpoint) required Benefits as a member of Carnival's Team: A comprehensive healthcare program, dental coverage and flexible spending accounts.
