    We are currently hiring Overhire Carpenters to provide temporary production support in our Lincolnwood, Illinois shop. This position has the potential to transition to full-time employment based on performance and project needs.

    This is an on-site position Monday - Friday from 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM.

    What We're Looking For:

    • Ability to hit the ground running and contribute to fast-paced, custom fabrication projects

    • 3-5 years of hands-on carpentry experience

    • Confident, safe operation of table saws, miter saws, sanders, routers, pneumatic nailers, and staplers

    • Strong craftsmanship and attention to detail

    • Reliable, team-oriented, and safety-conscious

    FABRICATE AND SUPPORT:

    • Follow Standard Operating Procedures for common processes as directed by the Department Managers.
    • Ensure understanding of fabrication processes required before proceeding with any task.
    • Provide material handling assistance both loading and unloading as specified by Department Managers.
    • Creative projects present novel challenges every day. Problem solving and critical thinking are essential to find effective solutions. Though we don't expect you to come up with solutions on day one, we do expect your problem solving skills to develop through your work on our team.

    SHOP SAFETY AND UPKEEP:

    • Though we do high caliber work and often work under tight deadlines, nothing we do should risk your health and safety. We have strong safety policies to help us all go home to our families, friends, and communities.
    • Use machine guards, remove trip hazards, coil cords and hoses when not in use, and maintain clear passages throughout the building.
    • Wear appropriate attire and required PPE as specified in Ravenswood's safety programs.
    • Reference SDS when working with materials. Ensure familiarity with all hazards associated with those materials.

    MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, 65 pounds occasionally, and 100 pounds with assistance.
    • Wear protective footwear at all times.
    • Wear ear protection and protective eyewear as required by task. Use respiratory PPE safely and appropriately.
    • Stand for prolonged periods.
    • Ability to read construction documentation and use a scale rule.
    • Ability to interpret artistic elevations, models, renderings, sketches, and drawings.
    • Familiarity with electric and pneumatic power tools.
    • Provide personal hand tools, cordless power tools, layout tools, and appropriate tool storage.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

    • Relevant degree/diploma, professional certification, or equivalent work experience/demonstrated skills.
    • Broad knowledge of modern fabrication methods and technologies.
    • Ability to communicate proficiently and proactively with all personnel.
    • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
    • Ability to identify when a task demands expertise outside of developed skillset and to seek assistance accordingly.
    • Intrinsic curiosity and enthusiasm for problem solving and bespoke fabrication.
    • A critical eye for detail and aesthetics.
