Licensed Practical Nurse

SUMMARY
This position oversees the medical needs of individuals with intellectual disabilities who live in group homes within their community.
Hours are typically 8am to 4:30pm, Monday thru Friday. Pay range is $22 to $24 per hour based on experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Periodically administers medication in accordance with the physician's orders, under the supervision of the Director of Nursing
Observes, interprets, records, and reports on the health of individuals on caseload. Prepares reports and updates on the heath of individuals
Provides health promotion and maintenance through teaching, guidance, and counseling the residents, families, and other members of staff
Identifies actual and potential safety hazards within the assigned care area and takes appropriate action to eliminate them
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment for this position varies between office and in the homes of those we support. Employees are expected to support individuals both in their homes as well as in the community.
TRAVEL
This position requires travel between various residential and office locations. A person in this position may be required to operate company vehicles to transport individuals on outings and/or to and from medical appointments.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Completion of a State approved Licensed Practical Nursing course and possession of a current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nurse Examiners.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities is preferred.
