    Raystown Developmental Services - Family Services Program in Huntingdon County is currently accepting applications from enthusiastic individuals with a desire to help children and families in their community. Staff works independently in the homes of families receiving services from the child welfare system. Positions all require strong interpersonal skills and a human services background; experience working with children and youth is a plus.

    SUMMARY:

    The Family Group Decision Making Coordinator will oversee the Family Group Decision Making Program by developing, encouraging and supporting a process that allows families to determine an effective mechanism for internal problem resolution, leading to independent decision-making. The Coordinator ensures consistency with the values, beliefs and philosophy of the FGDM model.

    $250 Sign On Bonus Available

    This is a Full Time position with a flexible schedule primarily 8:30am to 4:30pm

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Provide updates to families and referral source as required by guidelines.

    Support family in making their own family plan and provide written plan/notes to all participants and/or funding source within seven working days of family meeting.

    Organize and facilitate family meetings. Attend any needed pre-conference meetings between agencies. Facilitate follow-up meetings as indicated in program guidelines.

    Schedule and complete pre-conference home visits with all families prior to first conference, and then as required by program policy.

    Identify and invite support persons for parents, children, and youth attending the meetings.

    Contact and invite youth 14 and over to all meetings, unless otherwise directed by the funding agency or the court. Other youth should be invited based on individual family and funding source need.

    Facilitate meeting in a neutral and fair manner, ensuring that all participants have an opportunity to be heard in accordance with the FGDM Model facilitator's guide.

    Effectively communicate with supervisors/managers, individuals, family members, referral source, and other interested parties.

    Attend 24 hours of job specific training per year.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    There are no supervisory responsibilities required in this position.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    Bachelor’s degree in related field; or

    Bachelor's Degree in unrelated field with minimum 12 credits in a Human Service related course; i.e. psychology, sociology, counseling, etc.

    PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    1 year related experience/training in working with children and families

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    The duties of this job require fine motor skills to write neat, legible notes, read and understand program documentation, and completing keyboarding entry.

    TRAVEL

    This position requires an extensive amount of travel throughout northeast and/or central Pennsylvania, primarily in Huntingdon and Mifflin County.

    Position requires a valid Pennsylvania license.

    Position requires staff to drive and transport clients in both agency owned and personal vehicles.

    Properly load and unload individuals to/from vehicles.

    Follow vehicle safety guidelines, as defined by state regulation and company policy, at all times.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Language Skills

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents and instructions. Ability to respond

    effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to clearly explain instructions in both written and oral media.

    Mathematical Skills

    Basic mathematic ability including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Use of MS Excel to aid in mathematical work.

    Reasoning Ability

    Ability to read instructional bulletins and/or participate in training sessions then translate information provided into day-to-day work duties.

    ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

    Recognizes problems and provides feedback or documentation to assist with problem resolution.

    Clearly and consistently verbally communicates priorities.

    Knowledge of basic computer operations.

    Documentation and observation skills.

    Ability to follow established confidentiality policy.

    Ability to follow established safety standards.

    Working knowledge of applicable regulations.
