    Raystown Developmental Services - Family Services Program in Juniata County is currently accepting applications from enthusiastic individuals with a desire to help children and families in their community. Staff works independently in the homes of families receiving services from the child welfare system. Positions all require strong interpersonal skills and a human services background; experience working with children and youth is a plus.

    SUMMARY:

    The Family Group Decision Making Coordinator will oversee the Family Group Decision Making Program by developing, encouraging and supporting a process that allows families to determine an effective mechanism for internal problem resolution, leading to independent decision-making. The Coordinator ensures consistency with the values, beliefs and philosophy of the FGDM model.

    This position is responsible for providing truancy related services to the schools within Junita County School District as well as providing in-home truancy related services to families. Additionally, this position will facilitate family court conferences within Juniata County on a quarterly basis.

    $250 Sign On Bonus Available

    This is a Full Time position with a flexible schedule primarily 8:30am to 4:30pm

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Assist with the development of policies, procedures, and forms to be used in the FGDM program. Prepare and complete required documentation in compliance with program guidelines, company standards and the policy and procedure manual. Provide updates to families and referral source as required by guidelines.

    Support family in making their own family plan and provide written plan to all participants within three working days of family meeting.

    Develop and maintain effective working relationships with outside sources in order to access referrals for the program.

    Organize and facilitate family meetings. Attend any needed pre-conference meetings between agencies. Facilitate follow-up meetings as indicated in program guidelines.

    Make safety and security of all involved in the meetings a top priority. Identify support persons for children and youth attending the meetings. Obtain consents as needed.

    Facilitate meeting in a neutral and fair manner, ensuring that all participants have an opportunity to be heard in accordance with the FGDM Model facilitator’s guide.

    Evaluate the program from all perspectives: family, facilitators, support services, paperwork, meeting effectiveness. Share evaluations with referral sources.

    Effectively communicate with supervisors/managers, individuals, family members, and other service providers.

    Attend work as scheduled. Attend meetings/trainings as required. Participate in Family Group Decision Making meetings to expand knowledge of the overall program. Complete on-line trainings as assigned.

    Perform related work as required.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Bachelor’s degree in related field and at least three years of experience working with children and families.

    Master’s degree in related field and at least one year of experience working with children and families.Or

    A combination of education and experience that meets the Implementation Team standards.

    Completion of the FGDM training including observing a family conference.

    Valid Driver’s License.
