    Job Description

    What will the role involve?

    You will assist the Senior Photo Editor, sourcing and editing the relevant images for News, Showbiz and Features stories while keeping up to date with all things celebrity via newspapers, websites and magazines and liaising with photo agencies to secure images.

    You will help maintain clear brand identities for all titles and keep images relevant to the reader along with embracing innovation, you will review existing ways of working and be pro-active in helping to move the Photo Hub forward. Searching for images requested by editors and photo editors to accompany news, feature or sports stories. Checking stories to make sure images are credited correctly and the best images have been used to illustrate the story.

    Who are we looking for?

    You have a good understanding of image usage rights when obtaining images from social media and the internet with a sound knowledge of Photoshop. You have a great eye for detail, experience in the photo industry - photo agencies, PR’s and photographers and a keen interest in both photography and current affairs.

    You have a great understanding of photos that have impact and add value to a story, the ability to work to tight deadlines with a calm and professional approach along with a thorough understanding of copyright, content licensing laws, IPSO, GDPR and IP rights associated with digital assets.
