    We have been retained by our client to recruit for a BDM sales professional in the electronic components industry to cover the greater Midwest area. The successful candidate will have solid experience and documented success selling electronic components to and users. Growing sales, training distribution sales representatives, and the introduction of additional products once they become market-ready will be the main responsibility of this position. This position reports to the Marketing Manager for North America.

    Territory

    Middle Part of the United States Minnesota to Texas - Ideally the candidate of choice will be based in and around the Chicago area. 

    Required Experience 

    • This position requires a highly motivated, independently working, and self-driven technical sales professional with established relationships throughout the region to be covered.
    • Recommend pricing strategies in the bid and competitive quote situations.
    • Target key accounts and develop consistently, long-term sales account strategies.
    • Attend and participate in trade shows, seminars, and conferences.
    • Presents company products, technologies, and services in sales situations.
    • Comprehensive use of company CRM for lead, contact, and sales pipeline management.
    • Investigates all competitive bid opportunities and reports on competitive activity.
    • Participates in sales meetings and strategy sessions to further company marketing and sales programs.
    • Provide technical and sales support to customers from the design phase through mass production 
    • Provide leadership and support manufacturers’ representatives and distributors within the territory
    • Establish and maintain key customer relationships at all levels, including Engineering, QA, Purchasing, Logistics, and Manageme

    Candidate Profile

    • Sales professional who absolutely thrives on prospecting, acquiring new customers, and building relationships
    • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
    • Minimum of five years technical sales experience in the electronic components industry
    • Proven track record of meeting/exceeding sales goals
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
    • Highly motivated self-starter

    Additional Requirements

    • Must have a good working knowledge of computers and software. Very strong Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint skills. Database/ERP software (SQL, MS D365) experience a plus.
    • Knowledge of RTC real-time clocks, timing devices, quartz crystals, tuning forks, modules, oscillators would be a plus but not required.
    • Must have excellent business development, territory management, and planning skills.
    • Must be able to travel within the United States and Canada and hold a valid auto driver's license in their home state.
    • Proven customer relationship skills including an excellent track record of successful account management.
    • Motivated, organized, goal-oriented, proactive, and persistent work ethic.
    • Excellent verbal, written, and customer presentation skills.
    • Education and Experience:
