    Position Summary:

    We are seeking a skilled and motivated Ready Mix Truck Mechanic / Shop Foreman to take a lead role in maintaining our fleet and building a high-performing maintenance team. This is a working foreman position that combines hands-on mechanical duties with leadership responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be experienced in diagnosing and repairing ready mix concrete trucks and will help recruit, train, and manage a future team of mechanics as our operations expand.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Mechanic Duties:

    Perform scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs on ready mix trucks, diesel engines, hydraulics, air brakes, and electrical systems.

    Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform diagnostics using appropriate tools and software.

    Maintain maintenance logs and complete repair records in a timely and accurate manner.

    Foreman Duties:

    Act as the lead mechanic and oversee daily shop operations.

    Help build and grow a team of mechanics as the fleet and operational needs expand.

    Coordinate and prioritize maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and support production needs.

    Order parts, manage inventory, and communicate with vendors as needed.

    Monitor shop expenses and assist with budgeting for repairs and capital expenditures.

    Ensure compliance with safety procedures, DOT regulations, and environmental standards.

    Qualifications:

    High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in diesel mechanics or related field preferred.

    5+ years of experience as a heavy truck mechanic, preferably with ready mix or construction equipment.

    Leadership experience or strong interest in taking on a supervisory role and building a team.

    Strong working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatic systems, and electrical systems.

    Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred or ability to obtain).

    Self-starter with strong organizational and communication skills.

    Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work in a physically demanding environment.
