    Every day at RealCraft, designers, architects and homeowners come to us to build the door of their dreams. Our Estimator plays a key role within our process of custom door and hardware design, determining what is needed to see each unique project through to its completion.

    This person thrives on creative challenges and finding solutions. Part dreamer, part analyst, our Estimator works closely with the founder and CEO of RealCraft, filtering creative energy through to the practicalities of building each door.

    RealCraft is a local, family-owned door and hardware manufacturer that's leading a return to craftsmanship through the use of genuine materials, unparalleled customization, and making all our doors on-site by hand. We help homeowners escape from the conformity of mass production and find the unique pieces that meet their needs. You'll join a values-driven production team dedicated to building the home products that customers can be proud of.

    What We Offer:

    Salary range of $75,000 to $100,000

    Key Responsibilities:

    Analysis and Evaluation

    Analyze shop drawings or concept sketches to gain understanding of the proposed project.

    Determine what factors of production will influence the cost of the door or hardware.

    Use material and labor data to prepare a detailed cost analysis.

    Present prepared estimates to management and sales.

    Leadership and Collaboration

    Collaborate with our sales and marketing teams to create new door concepts, guiding the process from ideation to prototyping.

    Balance customer requests with fidelity to RealCraft’s design aesthetic and construction methods.

    Oversight of the drafting team.

    Creation and Discovery

    Use data to discover design trends to inform new product development.

    Design door hardware for potential fabrication.

    Demonstrate openness to new solutions for complex design challenges.

    Requirements:

    5 or more years of experience in the door-building or construction industry in estimation or design.

    Expertise with analytic tools, such as spreadsheets, CAD, and database managers.

    Comfortable with Microsoft Office products.

    Ability to understand design, and the mechanics of structure and movement.

    Possesses a curiosity to analyze what material and time goes into building each door.

    Ability to read and interpret technical documents.

    Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.

    Exceptional time management skills.

    Plus, but not required:

    Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or related field.
